LeRoy Neiman’s
INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW, NEW YORK
LeRoy Neiman once again takes us to the glittering world of high society,
this time it’s the National Horse Show. The setting is Madison
Square Garden in New York City for opening night of this extravaganza. The
National Horse Show is the grandest event of the prestigious indoor horse show
circuit.
We join the socialites as they meet and mingle around the show ring. Top
hats and tailcoats, regal evening gowns, furs and sparkling jewelry heighten
the sense of anticipation. Brilliant flags of the competing nations hang
from beams far overhead, contributing to the pomp and pageantry.
The atmosphere pulsates, sparkling with electricity generated by the enraptured,
privileged crowd. Neiman captures the excitement and tension of
the moment, the thrill of being there, witnessing the fierce competition of
the Grand Prix equestrians. Not until the last obstacle is overtaken
does enthusiastic applause ring out throughout the Garden.
LeRoy Neiman has just been named the Official Commemorative Artist of the 2010
World Equestrian Games. Horses have always been a favorite subject. INTERNATIONAL
HORSE SHOW, NEW YORK is set on a black background, magnifying the intensity and
silhouetting the rich color palette that is quintessentially Neiman.
